⚔️ Orion Krafts Some legacies are written in ink. Ours is written in steel.

Where It Started My great-grandfather never talked about legacy. He just worked. Every morning, same forge. Same fire. Same belief that if you’re putting your hands on something, you finish it right or you don’t finish it at all. He was a blacksmith — not by passion, but by purpose. He made tools, blades, ironwork. Things people in his time genuinely depended on.
He never wrote any of it down. He just showed his son. His son showed my father. And my father, on a random afternoon I still remember clearly, handed me a hammer and said — feel it first, then strike. I was probably twelve. I’ve never really stopped since.
The Thing About Growing Up Around a Forge You don’t realize what you’re absorbing until years later. The patience it takes to wait for the right temperature. The instinct to know when steel is ready just by its color. The quiet satisfaction of a finished piece that sits perfectly in your hand. None of that was taught to me in a formal way. It was just… around. In the air. In the way my father moved when he worked. By the time I was old enough to take it seriously, I already knew more than I realized.
Why I Started Orion Krafts A decade ago I didn’t sit down and write a business plan. I just started making things — and at some point the work became something bigger than a hobby. The Viking direction felt right from the beginning. Norse craftsmen weren’t romantics. They were obsessives. They cared about how a blade balanced in the hand, how the edge held after hard use, whether it would still perform a generation from now. No decoration for its own sake. Everything earned its place. That’s exactly how my great-grandfather thought about ironwork. I recognized it immediately.
What We Make Hand-forged Viking swords, battle axes, hunting knives, shields, spears, seaxes — and custom pieces built around whatever you have in mind. Everything made here is made by hand, start to finish. No outsourcing, no shortcuts, no exceptions.
The Steel Damascus (1095 + 15N20, folded for real edge performance — not just the pattern), 1095 high carbon, D2, and 440C. My father taught me the steel always reflects what you put into it. Ten years later I still think about that every time I’m at the forge.
Want Something Made? Tell me what you’re looking for. A blade, a sword, something custom and personal — I work with you directly from idea to finished piece. No middlemen, no back and forth with someone who doesn’t actually make the work. 📩 info@orionkrafts.com Four generations of people who cared deeply about this craft before I ever touched a hammer. I’m just trying to make sure it shows in everything I make. That’s Orion Krafts.
